PEN TO PAPER EXHIBITION TOUR

To celebrate the release of our latest publication “Pen to Paper”, Pictoplasma proudly presents a series of exhibitions in London, Paris and Berlin. The recent revival of analogue skills has injected immeasurable visual wealth into the world of illustration, fine art and especially character design.
Artists reject the computer and channel their creativity through spontaneous freehand drawing to create untamed, edgy and exceptional beings.
All that seems left of our beloved cartoon faces, familiar consumer mascots and pop icon characters is a distorted, far away echo.

Pen to Paper showcases works by Shoboshobo (FR), Allyson Mellberg Taylor (US), Seth Scriver (CA), Andrew James Jones (UK), John Casey (US), Luke Ramsey (CA), Eric Shaw (US), Thomas Bernard (FR), Lane Hagood (US), Joey Haley (CA), Kerozen (FR), Ian Stevenson (UK), Arnaud Loumeau (FR), Fia Cielen (BE), Frédéric Fleury (FR), Matt Lock (US), Ola Vasiljeva (NL), and Yu Matsuoka (JP/FR).

Pictoplasma Portfolio of Productions

Pictoplasma produces and initiates artwork and installations in close cooperation with a wide array of internationally established artists and designers. The often site specific outcome reaches from walk-through colouring rooms, huge battle fields of over-sized cardboard cut-outs, wearable, hydraulic character costumes, contemporary dance and theatre pieces, anthropomorphic rodeo machines or truly character-driven bumper car arenas.

We continuously try to push the boundaries of how to present contemporary character design and art in curated exhibitions and group shows. Attracting both, the general public and true character connoisseurs, our activities reach from special events such as the Character Walk through 30 galleries, to concentrated museum shows such as the Pictopia Exhibition featuring the world’s first large scale presentation of original art work.
